Zambia's Wild Dogs Hit the Big Screen

BBC1 in Luiwa Plains National Park
The BBC films the Sausage Tree Pack on a kill.
The 20 African wild dogs of the Sausage Tree Pack, one of ZCP's intensively studied wild dog packs in Liuwa Plain, will star in the BBC's upcoming Survival Series, a follow-up to the extremely popular Planet Earth series. With the assistance of ZCP, the BBC crew followed the pack throughout much of the 2012 season, chronicling the dogs as they raised their 12 pups, feuded with hyenas, and hunted the vast herds of wildebeest in the plains. We expect the release of this film will continue to highlight Zambia as one of Africa's last remaining wild dog populations. Stay tuned!
